handPoint software runs on many different types of handheld devices with the PocketPC, Windows CE.NET and PalmOS operating systems. Our customers can therefore choose from different platforms suitable for their environment, e.g. ruggedized or sleek designs, with/without barcode scanners, with/without keyboards etc. handPoint is a Symbol solution partner and many of our clients have chosen the industry leading Symbol handhelds to run our solutions.
Handheld payment terminals
Early in 2004 handPoint started promoting a new generation of handheld devices. For example, the XPDA-S device is a mobile POS terminal featuring a brand new design combining in one slim unit a thermal printer, barcodescanner, magnetic stripe reader (for credit/debet cards) and a smart card reader. Handheld payment terminals are very useful for various situations, e.g. aboard airplanes, in trains, for travelling sales man and almost every where there is a need for a mobile payment solution. The introduction of Chip & Pin is also a key factor and will definately spur the circulation of these kind of devices.
