handPoint and Króli today announced that RARIK, Iceland's largest electronic provider, has acquired a meter reading system designed especially for the power industry by the two companies. The system is based on handPoint's solutions and knowledge of the handheld technology and runs on Symbol SPT 1700 handhelds with integrated barcode scanner. |

handPoint and DMM have formed an OEM agreement which states that DMM intends to use handPoint's expertise in the handheld market and license it's Orbit software as a handheld extension to DMM's software. The work of connecting the systems together is already underway and representives of both companies are hopeful that the combined system will be tested with Landsvirkjun, RARIK and Hitaveita Suðurnesja next summer. |

Flaga Medical Devices, the world's leading manufacturer of medical sleep recorders, has invested in handPoint, the Icelandic pioneer in handheld computing. The investment is a part of Flaga’s strategy to implement handheld technology in its products. The two companies announced a "broad relationship" to integrate handPoint’s software technologies into Flaga’s solutions. To extend its handheld strategy, Flaga will incorporate handPoint’s management system Orbit into the company’s information system. As part of the strategic relationship the companies will also in conjunction develop integratable solutions of handheld technology for the medical market. |
